There are many ways to summon animals for the wolves of Carvanna, three major ways are common, others, have probably been lost through other traditional ways. These summoning ways are technique's past down from family to family, in other words, the summoning animals that their parents have, they have. Sometimes, teachers may pass it down to their students, but a special blood ritual is needed for that.
I. Blood Clipping
The most common summoning technique. This is when a little bit of blood is drawn from the user and wiped in a special symbol on the ground, then with the energy of whatever element they have, they recite one line in a foreign language known as the language of ancient Carvanna and the animal they have summoned pops up out of the ground. This is used most of all the other two are rarely seen.
II. Summoning Words
This is mostly seen in very religious wolves, which there are not many of these days. This is when a large portion of a story in Carvanna is recited to summon their animal out of thin air. Although, it takes years to memorize since it is very complicated and the words can reach up to 200 words per recite.
III. Dark Summoning
This is never seen to the eye and is strictly forbidden among beast tamers of the summoning kind. Once used by evil overlords of Carvanna, this makes it so the energy of living wolves around them is used to summon their creature. It is said to make the summoned creature more rancid and most likely not to obey it's summoner, also ten times as stronger as the normal summon.
IV. Teacher to Students
If one wishes to obtain a summoning animal through their teacher, then they some swear a blood oath to that teacher. The ceremony varies from teacher to teacher, but it always involves combining of blood, and the fact that if they betray their teacher, well, the most unspeakable horrors happen to them, they turn to darkness and nothing else. So one's oath to their teacher is strong, up until they die, then the summoning animal is theirs for freedom.
