There was a spring in her step that wasn't present before. True, her shoulder still stung, but all in all, she was feeling better than she had in a long time. She was humming the song Zephard sang softly to herself as she walked around, inspecting the wolves for injury and healing those that needed it. She seemed to be glowing, she was so happy.
Of course, she knew the feeling wouldn't last. It never did. But she really did like Zephard and had a lot of fun with him. Maybe someday, they'd meet once more. It was a day she was looking forward to. Such thoughts clouded her mind when she bumped into someone.
"Sorry," she murmured without even looking up to see who it was. Bumping into someone really did make her shoulder sting, but she ignored the pain, as she always did. Maybe if she acted really casual, no one would notice it. She kept moving toward her tunnel, looking down so whoever she bumped into wouldn't see how much that smarted.

This was just about the time Gabe was going to go out on patrol, the large old wolf blazed his movements over as he made his way to the entrance tunnel. Then suddenly, a wolf bumped into him, lucky him it was the healer of Waru. The troublemaker for what he would like to say. Gabe hated Vicki with a passion, perhaps because she would always outsell the fact that her powers were valuable to the pack. It didn't mean he couldn't cause some damage though. A smile spread across his face when he looked down on Vicki. A chuckle leaving his throat as he sank to her side, "Oh, an what were you doing out all alone all morning Dear?" He asked with a bit of hostility in his voice. The sorry that escaped from her lips didn't even phase him as he blocked her path from going any further. Some wolves were starting to watch.
"And I suppose you were out hunting, and didn't find any food? Or were you possibly spending time with someone you shouldn't have. Remember we don't take kindly to other pack wolves as our mates. Maybe friends, no not even friends." Gabe rumbled in his throat, his dark eyes watching the fae. His tail fin marking seemed to ripple with anger like the rest of his body. The scars and nicks all over his body from the times of the gods war, a bloody battle that was unspeakable to those who had survived and gone mad from fighting those who they very worshiped.

She just had to bump into Gabe, one of the wolves she could never seem to please for some reason, and he just had to block her path and start making a fuss. She wanted to crawl into her den and hide, but instead, she looked Gabe in the eye and smiled. She knew that even if Gabe hated her, he couldn't deny her skills were useful. She had nothing to fear from the likes of him.
"I was healing," Vicki said nonchalantly. What? It wasn't a lie. She had healed Zephard after all. "Last time I checked, that's what I'm supposed to do, no?" She ran a paw through her fur, wincing as soon as she reached her shoulder. "You can see the proof right here." She chuckled. "The pack may not look kindly on other wolves as mating material or friends, but no one has ever minded my healing of those outside our pack. At least, our Alphas never have vocalized such to me." She smirked at Gabe. She had given up trying to appease him long ago. The only time she seemed to be able to do it was when she had to heal him, anyhow. She smiled wider. "Of course, I could always take this up with one of them. I'm sure they are not too busy to be asked such a question which they could have answered at any given moment by voicing disapproval for something I've always done."

I wanted to pound her face in now, it wasn't right to heal our enemies, let alone the lowley Inu. Yet, I had an idea, that sparked inside of my head. I laughed and a smile spread across my face as I looked down on the smaller fae who called herself a Waru wolf. She didn't even deserve to be in a pack. "Oh, then, you wouldn't mind telling me the name of this...friend you oh so healed to get that pitiful wound" I growled at her, tapping my paw on the wound, which could easily be considered a small punch in her terms. I followed with a stern hmm and narrowed my eyes at her.
"Or, I could tell the alpha that you were helping a ghost wolf, or even worse, a traitor?" I gasped and put my paw over my mouth dramatically. Then chuckled and turned to her again, sitting and waiting for an answer. "Your answer girl, decides whether or not I get to punish you or report you to our superiors." I snorted. It was easy to find flaws in her complexion, if she lied. She would hesitate. After all, I didn't take kindly to outsiders ever since the wonderful war started, I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into another victim if there was another war with the ghost wolves.

What do I do? He's onto me! I healed one that is considered a traitor AND a ghost wolf. Well, he has the ghost element, anyway. What do I do? I can't panic! If I do, he'll just report me faster! I have to think of something. Be calm, cool, and collected. Otherwise, he'll know you're lying. That was the thought process Vicki had as she blinked, then opened her eyes and stared Gabe down. Please don't hate me.
"You know I don't always take the names of the wolves I heal," I said. It wasn't lying. I never said that I didn't know his name. I was just clever in saying that I didn't always take wolf's names. "And you know you cannot make an accusation of that sort without proof." I raised an eyebrow. Nothing I said was a lie, but I felt dickish for having to avoid telling the truth. It just wasn't right. Zephard was branded a traitor without even doing anything, and my helping him would probably be considered the worst thing I could possibly do. "I suppose you have some?"

I looked at her with a little snort. What she said was true, I hated it when she was true with her words. I got up and flicked my tail. "That may be, but tell me at least what he looked like?" I hesitated to finish the sentence with a large sigh, "Please? Then I won't report you" I muttered, what the hell was wrong with me now? I got up and stood closer to her, sniffing the edge of her wound. It was healing but if she didn't clean it, it would obviously not do her any good. didn't like this situation at all. Whether it be she was messing with the Inu wolves again or some outsider. Plus the pack was on high priority to make sure our lands stayed clean of any ghost wolves.
"You should get some water on that wound there" I told her, almost not even caring about the earlier incidents. I was starting to wonder if she was getting to me. I snorted and looked away, I wasn't going to become out of character just because of some stupid runt. I was way stronger then her, so there was no point in feeling pity. I sat down, narrowing my eyes at her waiting for an answer.

He was begging her to tell him what he looked like. She hated what she did earlier with the evasive talking, the truths that implied the lie. But she couldn't admit to what was happening. He claimed he wouldn't report her. That didn't mean he wouldn't take it upon himself to punish her.
"I'm sorry. I can't do that," Vicki answered in a hushed voice. "It was too dark to see." The first outright lie she told him in this particular instance. She knew he would catch on to that fact, and she felt like a jerk for it. Would it really be so bad to describe Zephard's appearance? I could have just told him he had black fur. There are many wolves with black fur. That's all I would have to give him. But I just don't want to give him any clues whatsoever that would lead him to Zephard, no matter how small. She then looked down at her shoulder. "Oh, I suppose I should..." She didn't move to put any on there, though. Instead, she looked into Gabe's narrowed eyes. "I can do that much easier if you would please move. I always have a bowl of water for cleaning wounds in my room." She was looking at Gabe apologetically. Why was it that every encounter with him always left her feeling guilty somehow, like she was meaner than she should have been?

It almost seemed like he had no other choice. He sighed, shaking his head, thinking on how he would let himself do such a thing, although it didn't mean he would follow her and listen in on her conversation through the walls, which was pretty easy considering the fact of his water bullet power. He stepped aside, but then spotted someone trying to steal food, "Hey, you!" The wolf yelped when his shoulder split with a splatter of blood. Gabe snorted, it was easy to use the water bullet power inside of a wolf, at least he hadn't used any major vessels. "While your at it heal that stupid moron. Gabe snorted, walking off, but hiding in the shadows near Vicki's room.
The male shivered in fear as the pain accumulated at his shoulder. He looked in horror, his shoulder was completely torn, muscle and all. He was just lucky his blood wasn't inside of his shoulder bone. He looked over at the piece of food, not even regretting that he had reached for it. Cursing under his breath, he tried to stand, but slipped and fell on the dirt floor again. Some of the other wolves laughed at him, others whispered to each other about him being a very suspicious character.

That was harsh. The guy just didn't have any food for himself. He looked so hungry. She walked over to the poor wolf.
"I'm so sorry. You should know better than to try to steal anything from Gabe," she said to the male wolf. "Please, let me see that." She took a deep breath and touched the wound, transferring it completely onto herself and not leaving so much as a scar on his body. She winced and fell, the wound causing her agony, but it was better her than this wolf. Poor guy. She shakily stood up. There were plants in her room. If she just got there...every time she took a step, she felt that pain shoot from her shoulder. It wouldn't be that bad for long...She didn't whimper, nor wince as she walked, only hesitated and shook. Clearly, it was putting a lot of strain on her, but she was trying to brush it off as casually as she would a bee sting. Walking into her room took much longer than it should have. Once there, she drew the life from the various plants she had brought in there to stop the wound from bleeding and closing it. There was now a giant scab on her shoulder. She then grabbed some spare food from her den and walked back out, handing it to the food thief.
"Here you go. This will be so much better, don't you think?" Vicki asked. Her voice was very strained. Quite honestly, it was all she could do to stand. "And next time you want more food, don't try to steal it. Just ask me. I always have spare food from my hunts stored in there, in case of an emergency."

The male blinked after his wound was healed, there was nothing more then a little bit of missing fur. He stood up and tested the leg out. Then turned to the fae, before he could say anything she went to her room and healed herself a bit before returning and handing him the rabbit that he had taken from the kill pile. He blinked at her with thanks and took the rabbit in his jaws, in actual fact he wasn't hungry at all, this food was for him to sneak out and give to an Inu wolf who had been recently banished from the islands. He looked up at her and wagged his tail the lonely Omega was grateful to her.
"Thank you miss, are you sure you'll be alright?" He muffled through the rabbit's fur. It wasn't hard to hear, but it sounded like he had something shoved down his throat. He still stayed in his low stature watching the fae. Dropping the rabbit on the floor he laughed a bit and smiled at her, "This food isn't for me, I'm actually full from hunting this morning" He explained, hoping that this wasn't going to get him into any trouble.

"It's my job as a healer, after all. And I will be fine. I've had to heal much worse wounds than this!" She laughed, her eye drifting to the scar on her throat. Including wounds that would be fatal. He then mentioned the food wasn't for him. She chuckled. "My, my. How embarrassing. Why didn't you say so in the first place?" She laughed. "You should always help those in need." She flicked her tail. "I would like to meet the one you are taking this to, but unfortunately, I seem to have a little trouble moving at the moment." She did have much more trouble with this than she was letting on, even though she was laughing. "Please, give it to your friend. It is food I gave to you and I had hunted, therefore, it is my right to decide who to give it to, and if you wish to take it to a friend of yours, then please, do so, by all means. You certainly have my permission."

The wolf was about ready to pick of the food again, when Gabe showed up once more. "And where do you think your going. Didn't my last attack teach you not to steal food after you've already eaten your fill. A fifthly Omega like you doesn't deserve to gloat himself. Specially with those taints on your fur." He snapped, pulling the rabbit away with his paw. He was refurring to the strange curse like markings on the wolves brown fur. It seemed they were all over his body, and in patterns too. Gabe snorted and picked up teh rabbit in his teeth, tearing into it until there was nothing left. Then eyed at Vicki. "Honey, I know your doing your job, but Omega's need to learn their place." He said flicking his tail as he nacked the wolfs face with a bullet made up of Vicki's bloody shoulder. It was only a small scratch but enough to make the male flinch as Gabe continued off to a dark corner to watch the two.
The male frowned upon how he had now lost the food he was going to give to the wolf he had found banished from the Inu. He sighed and whimpered a bit hiding his face in his paws at the mentioning of his strange curse marks. He wouldn't even tell his closest friends about it, even if he had any that was. He ignored the sting on his nose, it wasn't much, but it was enough to make him even more scared of the beta of the Waru pack.

Vicki growled at Gabe as he ate the food. She was actually angry enough at him that she didn't care what her punishment would be as she glared at the beta. Be calm and reasonable, she reminded herself. Instantly, her anger looked like it dissipated, but only to the untrained eye. She smiled sweetly at Gabe, following him.
"I apologize, Gabe, but, see, what you did just there? That was incredibly stupid," she said in her sweetest voice. This was how you could tell you really angered her: if she was saying things bluntly, covered up with false niceness. "You lecture him on stealing, but, you see, that food was originally mine, not yours, therefore, you had no right whatsoever to eat it. In fact, you stole it by doing such an action, as I did not give you permission to so much as touch it." She ran a paw through the fur on her head, the one that was attached to the shoulder that wasn't torn apart. "And, lest you forget, everyone was an Omega at some point, unless they were born into this pack. Their place is to watch and learn from our example. It's too bad people like you don't set a good one." She turned around and strutted away. She was too angry to care how harsh what she said to Gabe was. As she saw it at that moment, it was the truth. She walked back to the male.
"Hey, it's okay," she said to him with a reassuring smile. She looked at his fur, which did indeed contain strange taints, but it didn't matter to her. What did was that this poor guy was whimpering. She lowered her voice to a whisper. "Look, I don't want your friend to starve to death. Meet me in my den later tonight, and I'll see what food I could get you to give to him, okay?" She then touched his nose and transferred the wound to her. God, she was getting even more banged up by healing today than usual. After she had, she looked very fatigued, but miraculously, she could still stand. "Just stay out of mischief, okay?" She nudged him with her newly injured nose, which, in hindsight, wasn't very smart of her as it stung, but then, it didn't matter to her, indicating he should leave for the moment, then took a shaky step toward her den and fell. It hurt too much and she was too tired to get up from there. Maybe this was where she'd sleep...Just for a little while, then she'd go straight to her den from there. She started to close her eyes.
