APPEARANCE INFO
[/color]Brief Appearance
The death god looks like the wolves of his element: black with red eyes.
Appearance
Darlos has an aura about him that even wolves that can't read auras can feel. When he's nearby, the temperature seems to drop several degrees. His eyes are dark red, and when you look directly into them, you can see all your dead loved ones. His pelt is dark black, yet each strand is a different shade of that color pallet. His normal voice sounds warm and soothing, but when he gets angry, it sounds as if several demons are speaking through him at once. He smells of all kinds of things. To good wolves, he smells of everything they desire. To bad ones, he smells of everything they hate. To the ones in the middle somewhere, he smells of something just from their every day lives. As everyone's views of death seem to vary, so, too, do wolves' perceptions of this god.
His fur feels soft, like cotton or silk. The master mark of his element seems to be all over the place, yet not so close together that the dots look like some sort of pox. Once a wolf looks at him, they can recognize the power he holds. His build seems to be a little foggy, shifting and changing to either be what the wolf finds alluring or what they find terrifying. His movements tend to be fluid and graceful, but somehow, at the same time, a little rigid. When Darlos howls, it sounds as if every dead wolf is howling with him, and the sound seems to resonate throughout the world.

Personality
Darlos was always a little reluctant to be the god of the dead, but he has grown accustomed to it. The reason no one sees Darlos is because he is constantly on the move. He will only entertain those that are worthy of it to him. His lands are have always been a comfortable home to him, but he doesn't really stay there very long, either, lest he have unwanted visitors. He is always calculating and thinking of ways to make his immortal life less dull. The only god he has any quarrel with is Minlo, and that is who he tries to avoid. In Darlos' mind, there is nothing wrong with trying to influence wolves, but controlling them completely is absolutely grotesque and vile to him.
He actually has a moral code, though not many see it. Once he makes a promise or a pact, he holds himself to it until the very end. He likes to make deals and bets, but there are certain things he won't do. For example, if a wolf offers him anything to be revived and come back to life, he would refuse. He is a very blunt god. Because he can see into the souls of wolves, he usually can tell what to say to derail and manipulate them, though he doesn't actually do either of those things unless it is absolutely necessary. Every death makes Darlos stronger, but he still abhors wolves that kill other wolves for no reason. Sometimes, he feels conflicted about certain deaths, and it isn't always clear if the reasoning for one wolf's death is completely justified.
However, death is a trivial matter. In Darlos' mind, there is very little significance to anything. He doesn't normally care one way or the other on any particular issue, but when he does, he is very vocal about it. He hates surprises, and therefore does his best to make sure his own actions aren't surprising. He explains exactly what he does and why so no none misunderstands his intentions. He is slightly jealous of mortal wolves because no matter where they are in life, they will always have less responsibility than he does. Watching over the dead gives Darlos a major headache sometimes. However, he always goes back home and does so, usually without complaint.

[/blockquote][/blockquote]Even though Darlos didn't feel it at this particular moment, he was lucky. He wasn't imprisoned like some of the other gods, and he was able to travel when he wanted, thanks to a couple souls he could trust to look over his realm while he was away. Still, right now, he felt as though he was feeble and weak. Finally, with a growl, he swiped the chess board away. This human game of chess was so utterly confusing! How come the soul he had been playing against learn it so well and effortlessly?!
"Let's do something else," he growled menacingly.
"I was hoping you would say that, Mi lord," the female said with a charming smile. Her soul was certainly beautiful. It was highly apparent that in life, she had been one of the good wolves. Her soul shimmered as she walked even closer to Darlos, taking a seat next to him. It was quite a tragedy, how she died, though the god of death wouldn't dwell on that. "It seems there is a new soul for you to meet." Darlos groaned. He hated meeting the newly dead wolves. They always had some sort of stupid question! "That is no attitude to have, Mi lord. Smile. Make him at home." Darlos grumbled some sort of agreement and walked through the land of the dead, coming across the newly dead.
"Wh-who are you?" the male stuttered, shivering. Darlos rolled his eyes. How much more stupid of a question could the wolf ask?
"I am Darlos, god of the dead."
"D-Darlos? Does that mean I'm--?"
"Yes, it means you're dead," Darlos interrupted. He was asked that question all too often.
"M-my mate! My pups! I killed them under Minlo's control...will I see them here?" the soul asked. Darlos sighed. He was asked that more frequently lately, and it bothered him.
"Probably not," he answered. "You will have an eternity to suffer until you have been forgiven." If souls could cry, this one would have right then and there. He ran further into the death lands, but it wasn't as if he could go very far until he had been sorted into the appropriate sector for him. Barriers went up, forcing the soul into a line, where countless others were waiting for their judgment.
"Mi lord," the pretty female soul began. "You know as well as I do that that wolf should not suffer for something Minlo made him do!"
"And what am I supposed to do? Reward this soul? Punish Minlo? Both of these are beyond my capabilities and you know it, Aria," Darlos said tiredly. "Now get back to work."
Aria nodded and ran off, leaving Darlos alone to think over what just happened.
